Newton's Law of Universal Gravitation
Every pair of masses attracts each other with a force proportional to the product of their masses and inversely proportional to the square of the distance between them.
Overview
F = Gm₁m₂/r². Doubling the distance between two masses reduces the gravitational force to 1/4 of its original value (inverse SQUARE law) — a very commonly tested proportional-reasoning trap.
