Impulse and Momentum
Impulse (force × time) equals the change in momentum — useful for analyzing collisions and impacts where forces vary or are hard to measure directly.
Overview
Momentum p = mv. Impulse J = FΔt = Δp. In a system with no external forces, total momentum is conserved — this is true whether a collision is elastic or inelastic.
